Position Overview:

The Senior A&E Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and managing a profitable portfolio of large Architects & Engineers Professional Liability business, including large practice policies and project specific business. This role includes risk assessment, relationship management, and collaborating with brokers to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and underwrite new and renewal Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.

Evaluate exposures, review applications, loss histories, and supplemental information to determine eligibility and pricing.

Develop and maintain strong agency and broker relationships to drive business growth.

Negotiate terms, coverage, and pricing to secure desirable new business and renewals.

Collaborate with the underwriting team, claims, and actuarial departments to ensure sound risk management practices.

Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.

Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.

Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events as a representative of Twin Maples Specialty.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or related field (preferred).

Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in professional liability underwriting, with a focus on Architects & Engineers.

Deep understanding of A&E risk exposures, insurance products, regulations, and underwriting methodologies.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
