The North American Stores Design (NASD) team is seeking customer-obsessed designers who have a passion for creating best-in-class, customer facing experiences. Come join the Home Innovation Team (HIT) and help us build the future of how hundreds of millions of customers discover, customize, and purchase home products on Amazon. In this role, you will partner with your product teams to solve complex problems for customers who are looking to purchase home goods (beds, couches, appliances), customizable products (t-shirts, mugs, curtains) to assisting customers redesign their homes.

We seek out design leaders who want to dive deep into the details and influence product strategy early in the funnel. Candidates must show that they can distill complex ideas into simple customer experiences while providing a CX vision that prove scalability over time. They should have experience working closely with product and engineering teams to build roadmaps, setting design strategy across multiple programs, and delivering experiences from early concept through launch.

Lastly, we are an AI-forward team. We have incorporated AI tools into how we design, and we invest time in building our own tools that help us step out of our swim lanes and evolve what role design plays in the product design cycle. We want candidates who are thoughtful adopters of this technology and can showcase the impact they have made through the use of these tools.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Design solutions for complex design and technical problems where product strategy is not fully defined
  • Create conceptual sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using AI tools
  • Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines to drive alignment and efficiency
  • Build and maintain the AI tooling the design team runs on — agents, skills, and workflows — and drive adoption
  • Develop and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that scale for your team
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and present at cross-team reviews to demonstrate features and drive design decisions
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (metrics, usability studies) to inform product-level customer experience decisions
  • Work closely with engineering to incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack
  • Balance short- and long-term design requirements against engineering constraints
