The Staff Accountant I assists in the monthly processing of journal entries, month-end close, account reconciliations, filings with government agencies, and preparation of financial statements. This position compiles financial data to aid senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and other financial reports. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

General Ledger Accounting – 100%

  • Performs daily journal entries
  • Ensures accurate and timely GL entries to process the month-end close
  • Performs account reconciliations to support accurate bookeeping
  • Prepares financial statements
  • Completes and submits government filings
  • Responds to financial questions from internal customers
  • Researches issues and troubleshoots for potential solutions
  • Performs third-party fee management includng reconciliation, processing, accruing, and remitting payment

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 1+ year(s) of general ledger accounting experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Working knowledge of financial management systems, Workday a plus
