Job Description

Just imagine a single integration and API strategy that connects SAP, data platforms, and future AI/Agentic capabilities across the LEGO® digital landscape. Jump in and help us build what’s next!

About the role

As our Staff Engineer - Enterprise Integration & APIs, you'll drive technical direction across SAP integration and API strategy while working with multiple product teams. You'll act as a bridge between Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, and product teams, translating technical strategy in both directions and connecting strategy with execution. As the first Staff Engineer in the Digital Platforms subdomain, you'll play a key role in shaping how the role works alongside engineering leaders and helping define ways of working across teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Delivered technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.
  • Built API management capabilities and standards in complex technology environments.
  • Led event streaming and event mesh implementations at scale.
  • Shaped enterprise integration strategies, including SAP ecosystems.
  • Applied Domain-Driven Design principles across product or platform landscapes.
  • Translated technology strategy into practical execution through roadmaps, structured problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.
  • AI-literate and curious about applying AI at scale

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expanded SAP capabilities beyond integration-focused domains.
  • Experience modeling enterprise data models including ontology-based approaches.
  • Developed developer experience or platform engineering capabilities.
  • Expertise with policy engines or authorization management in general

What you'll build

  • Drive the technical direction for SAP integration and API strategy across product teams.
  • Connect engineering strategy with day-to-day delivery and execution.
  • Shape the role of Staff Engineering within Digital Platforms and the wider engineering community.
  • Establish and evolve SAP integration and API strategies to support AI and agentic capabilities.
  • Align integration approaches with the data platform strategy.
  • Define how enterprise data models and APIs work together across the landscape.

If you've worked in a role where you've guided technical direction across multiple teams while influencing standards and engineering practices, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to connect long-term strategy with practical delivery and create clarity across complex technical landscapes.

Life on the team

You'll join the Digital Platforms subdomain, where we solve common problems once and build platforms around how digital technology engineers work so teams can move faster with less friction. We work closely together through agile team practices and regular leadership syncs. Our hybrid rhythm helps us stay connected while giving people flexibility in how they work and collaborate.

The role is based on our Billund Campus office offering an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment.

What success looks like

Success means creating and communicating clearly defined and governed technical guidance across SAP integration and API management. Guidance should be aligned with our strategies for Data, Enterprise Data Model, and AI / Agentic. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll help navigate the impact of ERP transformation to S/4HANA while shaping the future integration landscape. You'll work closely with Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, Product Teams, Product Managers, and Engineering Directors to translate technical direction and principals into clear guidance, coordinated roadmaps and aligned deliveries.

Please note: If you require any reasonable accommodation or adjustments throughout the application process, please let us know. We will work with you to meet your needs.

This position is Senior Manager Specialist level. Relocation support is not offered.
