Job Description Summary

We are looking for a hands-on SAP developer to modernize a complex SAP landscape as part of a large-scale S/4HANA transformation.

You will join an established internal development team with a strong engineering culture and collaborate with internal architects and technical experts from our system integration partner.

This is not a ticket-based coding role. It requires technical depth and ownership from design through production.

Job Description

Your role

Modernize ECC custom developments for SAP S/4HANA

Design and deliver RICEFW objects, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows

Apply clean-core principles and appropriate SAP S/4HANA extensibility options

Collaborate with the internal development team, functional consultants, and technical architects

Challenge unclear requirements and propose practical, maintainable solutions

Own delivery from technical design through testing, cutover, and production

Contribute to technical standards, reusable solutions, and knowledge transfer

Experience

Five or more years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience

Experience working with functional, technical, testing, and business teams

Experience delivering solutions through testing, cutover, and production deployment

Required technical skills

Core ABAP engineering: ABAP Objects, modern ABAP, Open SQL, debugging, performance optimization, and ABAP Development Tools (ADT)

S/4HANA transformation: custom-code remediation, SAP Simplification Items, ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), clean-core principles, and S/4HANA extensibility

Modern application development: practical experience with several technologies such as Core Data Services (CDS), RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), OData, SAP Fiori, and Custom Fields and Logic

Workflow and output: experience with SAP Business Workflow, Flexible Workflow, Adobe Forms, or SAP S/4HANA Output Management

Integration: experience with IDocs, Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs), APIs, proxies, or web services

Delivery: experience with at least one SAP S/4HANA implementation, conversion, or modernization program

Working style

Independent and accountable approach to delivery

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Confidence to challenge unclear requirements and propose better solutions

Clear communication across technical, functional, and business teams

Ability to research SAP documentation, SAP Notes, and recommended practices

Nice-to-have skills

Cloud and emerging technologies: SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), and SAP Model Context Protocol (MCP) with ADT

Specialized development: Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Post Processing Framework (PPF)

Lifecycle and documentation tools usage expirience: SAP Change Request Management (ChaRM), SAP Cloud ALM, SEALM, Jama, or similar platforms

Business process knowledge: Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Quality Management (QM), Warehouse Management (WM), Financial Accounting (FI), or Production Planning (PP)

Regulated environments: Good Practice (GxP) or other regulated delivery experience
