Staff Software Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Staff Software Engineer will work with a Scrum Team and a Software Product Owners to help develop world class digital engineering tools and design the digital thread of connected tools and processes for development of wind turbines. Currently, this suite of tools includes building cloud based web tools for automating and connecting engineering tools for speed in customer proposals and consolidating digital tools for wind turbine/farm simulations, loads evaluation and simulation configuration management.

Essential Responsibilities

• •Advance state-of-the-art computer modeling and process improvements of Wind Turbines engineering digital tools
• •Work with Product/Software Owners and functional stakeholders in engineering and commercial teams to refine our vision and execution for the engineering suite of tools
• •Look for ways to develop and integrate new digital technologies to add value to internal applications as well as improve overall efficiencies.
• •Working with a global team you will be involved in a full software lifecycle including coding, documentation, training, cyber security and maintenance, and quality testing.

Required Qualifications:

• •Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• •One year programming experience
• •One year experience with Agile or Other Software Management techniques.

Desired Qualifications/Characteristics:

Proven experience in Cloud Computing/AWS; experience with specific services like AWS Lambda, S3, RDS, Batch, Step Functions a plus.

• •Experience with a full-stack responsibility, across multiple programming languages
• •Some familiarity with Kotlin, and modern front end frameworks like React or Angular a plus.
• •Solid Python experience for backend services and AWS Lambda development
• •Able to debug end-to-end flows across frontend, loggers, backend services, database, and job orchestration layers
• •Comfortable working in an existing enterprise codebase with established patterns rather than rewriting from scratch
• •Strong troubleshooting skills for production-like environments, deployments, and data consistency issues
• •Experience with Linux and Windows-based development environments
• •Familiarity with QA/prod deployment practices and safe handling of environment-specific data, including automated testing frameworks with stage-gate approval processes
• •Experience supporting engineering tools used by analysts, scientists and engineering teams, not just consumer-facing apps

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
