The Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer is the technical authority for Drive Unit and Metals commodities, reporting to the Supplier Industrialization Manager, Drive Unit & Metals. This role exists to ensure suppliers can industrialize complex powertrain components from concept development through launch and mass production. You will own supplier manufacturing strategy, process validation, launch readiness, capacity assurance, and risk mitigation across castings, forgings, machined parts, gears, rotor and stator components, motor housings, and drive unit assemblies. In your first 12 months, success will be reflected in on-time APQP milestones and PPAP approvals, production-ready tooling and capacity, strong launch quality, effective issue closure, and suppliers capable of supporting Lucid’s volume and performance requirements. You will work directly across Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Supply Management, Supplier Quality, Technical Program Management, Operations, and global suppliers. This is an opportunity to serve as the technical bridge between product design and supplier manufacturing execution while directly influencing current and future powertrain launches.

• What You’ll Own
• •Industrialization Strategy: Lead assigned Drive Unit and Metals suppliers from sourcing through Start of Production, setting manufacturing roadmaps, readiness criteria, and risk-mitigation plans that support scalable, sustainable production.
• •Manufacturing Decisions: Act as the subject matter expert for castings, forgings, precision machining, heat treatment, gears, rotor and stator components, motor housings, automated assembly systems, and related metal processes, making technical recommendations that shape supplier process development.
• •Design for Manufacturing: Partner with Design Engineering to assess drawings, GD&T, critical characteristics, manufacturing feasibility, and supplier capability, improving manufacturability, quality, cost, and throughput before designs are released.
• •APQP and Launch: Own completion and technical approval of APQP deliverables, including process flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, capacity studies, Run-at-Rate, Safe Launch plans, PPAP documentation, Production Readiness Reviews, and process sign-offs.
• •Capacity Readiness: Validate equipment, tooling, capital plans, cycle times, OEE, bottlenecks, and production flow so suppliers can consistently meet Lucid’s quality, throughput, and volume requirements.
• •Quality Recovery: Lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions, QUAL investigations, containment, and supplier recovery plans that improve process capability, reduce defects, and protect launch and production continuity.
• •Executive Alignment: Present supplier readiness, risk, and launch status to leadership and drive clear decisions across internal stakeholders and supplier teams when quality, capacity, cost, or timing tradeoffs arise.
• What You Bring

• Required (Minimum Qualifications)
• •12+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, product launch, or supplier industrialization, including demonstrated technical leadership in metal manufacturing and supplier development.
• •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
• •Deep working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, Run-at-Rate, AIAG Core Tools, GD&T, and manufacturing-process validation.
• •Hands-on experience with casting, forging, precision machining, assembly manufacturing, automation systems, capacity analysis, and quality-system or manufacturing-process audits.
• •Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.

• Preferred Qualifications
• •Master’s degree in engineering.
• •ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent quality certification; Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
• •Experience supporting electric vehicle or powertrain programs, including eMotors, drive units, gearboxes, rotor and stator manufacturing, or motor housings.
• •Experience managing suppliers across North America, Asia, and Europe.
• Shainin, Lean Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence training.
