Standards and Innovation Sr Process Engineer, LATAM Engineering

The LATAM Engineering team is seeking an experienced, hands-on and customer obsessed Senior Process Engineer to own equipment development and standardization across our Last Mile delivery network. Sitting centrally in London, you will define and maintain equipment standards for Carts, Racks, Bags, Automation and MHE, driving parity across LATAM while acting as the bridge to WW engineering teams and other regions. Equipment you develop will always meet safety, customer experience, capacity, quality and cost goals. You will lead design, qualification and value engineering initiatives, partnering with country engineering teams, Operations, Safety and vendors. You will also work closely with your WW counterparts to benchmark performance and align on global standards.

This position requires strong leadership, deep customer focus, strong autonomy and exceptional project management skills. It will involve regular communication with executors and project sponsors at both the country and WW level, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable partnering across functional business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with strong intuition.

This role will be based out of London and may involve occasional travel within Emerging Countries.

• Key job responsibilities
• As the central Equipment/Product Strategic Engineer for LATAM, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of process equipment standards — from concept and design through qualification and network-wide deployment. You will be the bridge between LATAM and WW teams, ensuring equipment parity and raising the bar across regions.

• - Define, develop, and maintain equipment standards for Carts, Racks, Bags, Automation, and MHE across the LATAM Delivery Station network
• - Lead equipment design, qualification, and value engineering initiatives to meet safety, capacity, quality, and cost targets
• - Benchmark equipment performance across regions and drive parity by partnering with WW Process Engineering counterparts (EU, NA, AMET, JP)
• - Develop technical specifications, qualification criteria, and design documentation for network-wide adoption
• - Partner with Operations, Safety, Launch & Expansion, and vendor teams to ensure equipment solutions meet local and global requirements
• - Support concurrent equipment development projects, managing priorities across multiple countries and timelines
• - Conduct data-driven analysis to identify improvement opportunities and inform equipment investment decisions

• A day in the life
• You'll start your day reviewing equipment performance data and project updates from LATAM country teams. You'll lead cross-functional discussions with WW counterparts to align on equipment standards and close parity gaps. Expect to evaluate vendor proposals, refine technical specifications, and conduct value engineering reviews. Your stakeholders range from field operations leaders to senior engineering leadership across regions. You'll balance strategic standardization work with hands-on problem solving — ensuring the equipment our associates use every day is safe, efficient, and world-class.

• About the team
• The LATAM team partners closely with AMZL Operations and support functions to identify, design and develop best-in-class process infrastructure and process layouts, and to deliver them as AMZL network standard infrastructure. To enable this, the team supports prioritization of regional and WW continuous improvement initiatives in addition to cross-regional benchmarking.

Basic qualifications

• - Bachelor's degree
• - Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment
• - Experience directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience.
• - Experience in equipment design, specification development, or product qualification in a logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environment

Preferred qualifications

• - Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
• - Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
• - Experience in advanced data analysis using Excel, Python, or SQL
• - Knowledge and ability to use standard design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Visio)
• - Experience developing technical specifications for logistics equipment or material handling systems
• - Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong working relationships across cross-functional and cross-regional teams
