Straight-Line Gluer Operator

SUMMARY

The Straight-Line Gluer Operator handles the efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of the machine to complete a variety of folding and gluing jobs—meeting established speeds, quality standards, and quantity requirements while maintaining a clean, organized work area and communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• •Set up the machine and maintain a strong mechanical knowledge of the machine.
• •Run and complete jobs of varying difficulty on the machine.
• •Run the machine at the established production speed while maintaining quality standards.
• •Complete jobs with 100% accurate quantities before packing and releasing them.
• •Multitask across jobs so all material is prepared and ready for the next destination.
• •Read and understand job tickets before starting to avoid errors.
• •Communicate job details with team members and helpers to ensure the job runs correctly.
• •Raise any questions to the Manager or Supervisor on duty before starting a job.
• •Tag every skid and job accurately so material reaches the correct destination.
• •Capture all job-related costs in the data collection system.
• •Compare output against blueprints or a previous printed sample on reprints.
• •Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to schedule.
• •Maintain an organized work area during and at the end of each shift.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• •High school diploma or equivalent.
• •Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and job tickets.
• •Knowledge of the mechanical setup of the machine.
• •Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• •Strong analytical and computer skills.
• •Ability to direct fellow crew members through the job; strong communication skills (bilingual a plus).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• •Able to lift 30 pounds.
• •Able to stand and walk approximately 95% of the shift, with frequent bending and lifting.
