About Petra Labs
Petra Labs is building the attribution and experimentation layer for AI search. We believe the future of commerce will be shaped by AI-driven information retrieval, yet most companies lack the infrastructure to understand and capitalize on this emerging growth channel. Petra Labs uses large-scale simulations, agentic analysis, and deeply embedded integrations to turn AI search from a black box into a measurable growth channel teams can rigorously optimize and allocate spend against.
Raised $5M+ in funding from Tier-1 VCs. We work in our SoHo, New York office.
Culture
We hire a small number of extremely talented people and give them as much ownership and autonomy as possible
We are truth-seeking. Transparent, direct discourse is encouraged. We challenge existing beliefs in pursuit of always getting better
We work hard and are unapologetic about the level of effort required to build a generational company
The Role
This is our first Account Executive hire. You’ll own deals from prospecting through close and work directly with the founders on larger opportunities.
AI search is still a new category. Most of the people we talk to know that the way customers find them is changing, but many are still figuring out what that means for their business and what they should do about it.
A big part of this role is understanding that problem well enough to explain it simply, answer hard questions, and help marketing leaders decide whether Petra is the right partner.
Because we’re still early, you’ll also have a real hand in shaping how we sell. You’ll help us figure out which companies to target, what messaging works, how we qualify opportunities, and what materials we need to close them.
What You’ll Do
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, calls, proposals, negotiation, and close
Work directly with the founders on larger and more complex opportunities
Learn AI search and our work well enough to have substantive conversations with CMOs and growth leaders
Build and improve decks, proposals, case studies, and other sales materials
Test different messaging, audiences, and outbound approaches and double down on what works
Keep the pipeline organized and make sure opportunities keep moving
Bring feedback from prospects back to the team so we can improve both the product and how we sell it
Help build a repeatable sales process as the team grows
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience closing B2B deals
Experience owning the full sales cycle, including your own prospecting
Comfortable selling a newer product or category where the buyer may not already have a dedicated budget
Able to run a sales process independently without relying on an SDR or solutions engineer
Strong written communication, especially over email, proposals, and follow-ups
Compensation & Details
Competitive salary + meaningful equity - this is a seed-stage founding team role
In-person in New York City
Reports directly to the founders
High autonomy, low bureaucracy, real ownership
