Our Story
Pointr is the market leader in Indoor Mapping, Location and Analytics, and the inventor of AI-based map production. Its innovative (20+ patents) Pointr Maps™ platform is used by millions of users across offices, retail locations, airports, hospitals, and more every month.
As the top choice of Fortune 100 customers and billions of sqft. deployed globally (30+ countries), Pointr is always on the lookout for great team members to support its fast growth. Our core values are Ownership, Harmony, and Scale, and we look for Passionate, Kind, and No-Ego team members to join the team.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Business Development contractor to test and build an early pipeline across two areas that don’t yet have dedicated go-to-market coverage: our emerging Data Strategy offering and our Retail & Aviation vertical. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor engagement for someone who enjoys the ambiguity of an early-stage motion, prospecting, opening doors, and validating demand.
This is a fixed-term contract engagement (approximately 3–6 months), not a full-time position. Based on results, this could evolve into a longer-term or full-time role.
What You'll Do
Prospect and generate net-new pipeline across two squads that currently have no dedicated business development coverage: New Markets.
Identify and qualify target accounts and use cases for Pointr’s data strategy/analytics offering, and for retail and aviation indoor-mapping opportunities.
Run outbound outreach (calls, email, LinkedIn, events) to generate qualified first meetings for the sales team.
Test and refine messaging and positioning for these two developing motions, and report back on what does and doesn’t resonate with prospects.
Partner with the CEO and Customer Advocates to hand off qualified opportunities cleanly into the existing sales pipeline.
Document learnings, objections, and market feedback to inform a recommendation on whether/how Pointr invests further in either motion.
What Success Looks Like
First 30 days: ramp on Pointr’s data strategy and retail/aviation offerings, build a target account list for both squads, and begin outbound.
90 days: qualified pipeline generated and handed off to sales for both squads, with a clear read on which motion (if either) merits further investment.
End of contract: a documented recommendation to leadership on next steps — including whether to convert this into a permanent role.
What We Seek
Experience in business development, sales development, or early-stage go-to-market roles, ideally within B2B SaaS or technology.
Comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited structure — this is a test-and-learn engagement rather than an established playbook.
Strong outbound prospecting and qualification skills, with a self-starter, “hunter” mindset.
Ability to work independently and report back clearly and honestly on what is and isn’t working.
Comfortable representing Pointr across two fairly different domains (data/analytics and retail/aviation venues) within the same engagement.
Based in the United States.
Professional fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in retail, aviation, events, or location/data analytics technology.
Proven track record in sales development or outbound growth, ideally focused on B2B SaaS solutions.
Prior experience in a contract, consulting, fractional, or interim capacity.
Familiarity with CRM and pipeline tools (e.g., HubSpot, Monday, etc ).
Compensation
Contract rate: $55–$75 per hour.
