Job Summary
Ready to turn relationships into clean energy projects? As Strategic Partnerships Manager at Resonant Energy, you'll build the partnerships and programs that bring new solar clients to our door, working with institutional nonprofits, human services organizations, universities, senior living and multifamily housing, and new construction developers and service vendors.
What Success Looks Like: In your first 90 days, you'll get to know Resonant's offer and our key partners, run your first discovery calls and handoffs to Sales, and help build a strategy for the priority partners in our new markets. By six months, you'll be running an established partner campaign, presenting webinars, finding speaking opportunities, and bringing in qualified leads. By the end of your first year, you'll have launched at least one new partnership program in the new construction ecosystem, built working relationships with the key players in new construction and universities, and become a reliable source of new proposals for the team.
Who You'll Work With: You'll report to Alan Sherman, Director of Marketing and Partnerships, and work closely with our Chief Growth & Impact Officer, a fellow Strategic Partnerships Manager, and our Marketing and Business Development teams.
What Makes This Role Exciting: You'll be building something from scratch. As Resonant expands into new markets, you'll shape how we enter them: which partners we work with, which programs we launch, and how we explain the value of solar to new audiences. Every partnership you build opens a reliable path for nonprofits and community organizations to access clean energy and the savings that come with it.
You'll Thrive If You:
Enjoy meeting new people and are comfortable speaking in front of a room
Are energized by designing and launching programs from the ground up
Find a workable path forward when the obvious route is blocked
Are curious about how organizations make decisions and what moves them to act
Want meaningful work delivering clean energy to under-invested communities
Your Responsibilities
Partnership and Program Development (45%)
Build relationships with partners and decision-makers in our target markets, including nonprofits, human services organizations, universities, senior living and multifamily housing, and new construction
Design, launch, and run outreach programs with partners that bring in a steady flow of new leads
Own your programs end to end, from intake processes and playbooks to webinars, speaking engagements, and reporting results back to partners
Work with Marketing on campaigns and events that extend the reach of your programs
Improve how leads move from outreach to our Sales team
Lead Generation (40%)
Represent Resonant at industry events and test new outreach strategies to meet prospective customers
Run discovery calls to qualify new customers and explain, at a high level, the financial benefits of going solar
New Market Development (15%)
Meet with stakeholders in new construction, senior living, and universities to find where our services fit
Help develop the processes and grant funding needed to launch programs and partnerships in those markets
Your Qualifications
Alignment with our Principles
Community: We support communities in leading their own clean energy transition and advocate for equitable solar policy.
Equity: We build wealth in under-invested communities affected by the climate crisis and commit to anti-racist practices.
Excellence: We do the right things, in the right way and prioritize social and environmental impact alongside economic goals in everything we do.
Innovation: We implement creative solutions to expand solar access because the industry isn't moving fast enough.
Integrity: We're trusted partners who communicate transparently and view profit as a means to expand our impact.
Culture: We balance mission urgency with work-life balance, support, fun and investing in our team's growth.
Education, Experience & Credentials
Bachelor's degree
4+ years of experience in business development, sales, strategic partnership development, program management, marketing, and/or construction management
4+ years of experience in the architecture and design, construction, and/or building decarbonization industries; this can be the same experience as above (for example, a business development role at a construction firm counts toward both)
Preferred: Master's degree
Ability to Demonstrate our Standards of Excellence
Ownership: You can trust us to deliver—we take initiative, keep others informed, and demonstrate personal responsibility for outcomes and quality of work.
Collaboration: You can connect and work well with us—we address issues that hinder teamwork directly, navigate disagreements with care, and openly contribute our ideas while building awareness of our blind spots.
Adaptability/Resilience: You can count on us when things don't go as planned—we stay composed, adapt quickly, and find solutions instead of getting stuck or overwhelmed.
Operational Excellence: You can rely on our work to be holistic and thorough—we deliver accurate results, anticipate how our work affects others, and actively improve processes along the way.
Growth: You can learn and grow with us—we approach challenges with curiosity, exchange feedback constructively, help identify development opportunities, and value effort and collaboration alongside results.
