The Opportunity
We are actively recruiting a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to help facilitate the ongoing and rapid growth at SLEEGERS. This person will be responsible for owning the strategic and commercial supplier lifecycle from sourcing need through contract award, supplier governance and systemic escalation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies for assigned spend.
Lead RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid packages, supplier evaluations and commercial recommendations.
Qualify, onboard, segment and develop suppliers with Quality, Engineering, Finance and Operations.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, capacity, lead times, payment terms and total cost.
Manage supplier performance and escalations through scorecards, KPIs, QBRs and development plans.
Evaluate price increases using supporting data, market benchmarks and cost drivers.
Manage supplier risk, continuity, alternate sourcing and contract calendars, and track savings, cost avoidance and improvement actions.
Qualifications:
5–7 years of progressive strategic sourcing, category management, procurement or supplier management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
SCMP, CPSM, CSCP or an equivalent designation is an asset.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience leading category strategies, competitive sourcing processes, supplier evaluations and commercial recommendations.
Strong negotiation experience across pricing, contracts, capacity, lead times, payment terms and total cost of ownership.
Ability to manage suppliers cross-functionally from qualification and onboarding through performance improvement, escalation and risk mitigation.
Experience with scorecards, KPIs, QBRs, corrective actions, continuity planning, alternate sourcing and contract management.
Strong analytical and financial skills, including evaluating price increases and reporting savings, cost avoidance and supplier improvements using Excel, ERP and spend-analysis tools.
Excellent commercial judgment, communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and uphold procurement controls, confidentiality and integrity.
The Benefits:
Competitive compensation package; the expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
