This internship experience provides participants with meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

At the conclusion of this position, interns will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how information technology (IT) works at an asset manager.
The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-12-week program, starting June 9th, 2027, and ending on August 13th, 2027. Students work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35-40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to students who are rising seniors (class of 2028).
MFS is a hybrid work environment (with 2 remote days and 3 on-site days) unless otherwise stated in the job posting.
About the Enterprise Data Management Intern
The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) group includes teams focused on data management and quality, market data management, data governance, analytics support, and data technology that services the data needs and capabilities of the enterprise. The intern will report to the Data Management & Quality organization and primarily perform data quality-focused activities and contribute to data management initiatives related to investment data domains but will have the opportunity to gain exposure to all areas of EDM including the systems that support investment related activities and data such as Bloomberg PORT, Charles River Investment Management Systems, Eagle Investment Management Systems, Snowflake.
Principle Responsibilities
- Work with the team to strengthen business documentation related to core investment data domains and activities
- Assist the Data Analysts with data analysis and visualization
- Execute daily and monthly data quality checks, identifying opportunities to strengthen and improve checks
- Opportunistically contribute to EDM data initiatives and perform data analysis
- Assist with Investments and Distribution Triage daily/weekly oversight activities; ensuring metadata completeness for root causes, domain type, and accountability/ownership
- Assist with maintenance of EDM SharePoint site
- Other data-focused tasks and projects as needed
