Superintendent Summer 2027 Internship

The Position:
- Assist with daily heavy civil construction operations, including earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.
- Learn and promote proper safety procedures, and help monitor compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Shadow the Superintendent in working with the Operations Manager and HR on employee relations matters.
- Support equipment coordination and pre-job planning to help ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the job site.
- Help verify foreman-reported installed quantities against hours from timecards.
- Observe and assist in troubleshooting field construction issues in collaboration with Project Management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Develop a working understanding of plans, specifications, and standard practices for heavy civil work.
- Build professional relationships with Owners, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of field crew personnel under supervision.
- Support Project Managers with scheduling, cost control, and change order documentation.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of, or coursework related to, earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site construction operations.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
