- The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for a Supervisor, Central Processing, in Miami, Florida.
- The Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing supervises and directs the decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. The Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing oversees staffing and provides direction and support to department staff to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulation.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensures the development of staff by providing orientation and continuing education programs.
Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Provides for the maintenance of necessary supplies and equipment.
Assists in achieving compliance with accrediting and licensing requirements.
Serves as a liaison with the operating room and other departments.
Recommends quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Demonstrates knowledge of and follows departmental and medical center policies and procedures.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

- CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
Central Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Performance Management: Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and effectively delegate tasks.
Training & Development: Providing employee training and motivation to enhance skills.
Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
