Role Summary

The Supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the new Global Warehouse in Sachiura.

This will be a new organization, separate from the existing warehouse operation. The Supervisor will work closely with the Assistant Manager and take responsibility for daily operations, manpower control, inventory accuracy, safety, and quality.

The Supervisor is expected to remain closely involved in warehouse operations and lead the team on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inbound, outbound, and inventory activities.
  • Allocate manpower based on daily workloads and operational priorities.
  • Lead and support ATOs on the warehouse floor.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ensure Maersk and customer safety and quality requirements are followed at all times.
  • Conduct daily operational and safety briefings.
  • Manage operational issues and escalate them when necessary.
  • Support cycle counts, stocktakes, and investigations into inventory variances.
  • Ensure required system transactions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Train and develop ATOs and new team members.
  • Maintain 5S and warehouse working standards.
  • Report daily performance, issues, and risks to the Assistant Manager.
  • Support root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
  • Team Leader or Supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inbound, outbound, and inventory processes.
  • Strong communication and frontline leadership skills.
  • Experience with SAP or a WMS is preferred.
  • A forklift license is preferred.
  • Practical experience operating forklifts or other MHE is strongly preferred.
  • A strong safety and quality mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Japanese communication skills are required.
  • Basic English communication skills are preferred.

Pre-Go-Live Training

The Supervisors are expected to join before the February 2027 go-live and receive hands-on training in our existing warehouse operation.

The purpose is to understand the current customer operation, systems, safety requirements, and working standards before transitioning to the new operation.

The Supervisors are expected to be ready to lead daily operations and the ATO team from day one.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to join a completely new warehouse organization from the outset rather than an already established operation.

You will be directly involved in establishing daily operations, working standards, and the team in collaboration with the Assistant Manager.

Through pre-go-live training and the actual start-up, you will also gain experience in customer operations, systems, safety standards, and inventory management.

For someone seeking to progress from frontline warehouse operations into stronger team leadership and operational management, this role offers the opportunity to grow alongside the new operation.
