Summary
Collect and account for fees at various locations interacting with visitors and sharing information. Serve as front-line representative to answer questions and offer guidance to guests. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for these positions are variable due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April - May 2027. Duties
Some of the Supervisory Recreation Fee Technician Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for directing and supervising activities of subordinate staff executing fee collection duties. Fee collection duties may include: operating and troubleshooting equipment (e.g., point of sale systems, electronic cash register, credit card machine, and/or computer), collecting and accounting for fees, disseminating park/area information and literature. Serve as uniformed front-line representative of the park. Model best practices in performance of fee collection duties which include: collecting appropriate fees at entrance stations in accordance with accountability guidelines, issuance of various park passes in accordance with current interagency pass policy, tracking and securing accountable stock, and providing excellent customer service to the visiting public.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by 11:59 EST of the closing date of this announcement or when the 'applicant cut-off' is reached (which may be sooner than (10/13/2026). Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your 2 page resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. In the event you submit more than one resume, only the latest submission will be reviewed. Quality Ranking Factor: Handling Money - able to handle, collect, and account for money. To qualify for this position at the GS-08 level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by the close of the announcement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possess one or more years of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to, leading or supervising others in fee collection related duties as well as technical abilities, providing technical or programmatic assistance on accounting, auditing, budget, and/or revenue collection; resolve fee program planning issues; assisting with identifying fee program/project needs; assisting with programmatic audits of a fee program. You must include hours per week worked. Please also include the grade level of any federal positions. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP Statement: Current or former displaced Federal employees who are surplus, displaced, or involuntarily separated have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP). To be considered under CTAP/ICTAP, you must be well-qualified. To meet the definition of well-qualified, you must (1) score at least 85 on the assessment questionnaire; (2) meet the minimum qualification requirements (education, experience or a combination therein), including any selective placement factors; and (3) be able to perform the duties of the position upon entry with reasonable accommodation, when applicable.
