• General Accountability
• Profound Medical is seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Supply Chain & Logistics Co-op Student to join our Operations team.

This role provides hands-on experience across multiple areas of supply chain within an innovative medical device manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will contribute to projects and day-to-day activities focused on ERP data hygiene and optimization, material planning, procurement, inventory management, warehouse organization, logistics, analytics, and continuous improvement.

Working closely with our Production, Engineering, Quality and Finance teams, the Co-op Student will have the opportunity to analyze real operational challenges, improve data and processes, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen material availability, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall supply chain performance.

This is an ideal opportunity for a student who enjoys working with data, solving problems, improving processes, and seeing the direct impact of their work in a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

ERP Data Management & Optimization 30%

Support initiatives to improve the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of supply chain data within the ERP system.

Perform ERP master data cleansing, validation, standardization, and maintenance.

Review and update item master records, supplier information, purchasing parameters, lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), safety stock levels, and other planning parameters.

Identify and help resolve duplicate, incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, or outdated ERP records.

Review Bill of Materials (BOM) data and assist in identifying discrepancies that may affect purchasing, inventory, or material planning.

Support validation and reconciliation of inventory transactions, purchase orders, planning records, and related ERP data.

Analyze ERP data to identify recurring data-quality issues, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

Develop reports and trackers to monitor data integrity, outstanding discrepancies, and corrective actions.

Support the development of data standards, validation rules, and documentation to improve ongoing ERP data governance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve ERP processes, data ownership, and transaction accuracy.

2. Material Planning & Procurement Support 25%

Support material planning and procurement activities to help ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.

Review planning parameters and purchasing information to help maintain accurate and actionable ERP data.

Assist in investigating material shortages and discrepancies affecting production.

Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and suppliers to resolve purchasing and material availability issues.

Support initiatives to improve supplier delivery performance and material availability.

• 3. Warehouse, Inventory & Logistics 30%
• Warehouse Organization & Optimization

Support initiatives to create a safe, organized, efficient, and scalable warehouse environment.

Assist with warehouse layout and organization improvements to optimize space utilization, material accessibility, and workflow.

Support the implementation and maintenance of standardized storage locations, bin structures, labeling, and material identification.

Participate in basic 5S and warehouse organization initiatives.

Analyze material flow and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary handling, movement, and searching.

Inventory Management

Assist in identifying excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

Review ERP inventory records and storage locations to identify inaccuracies and improvement opportunities.

4. Supply Chain Analytics & Continuous Improvement 15%

Collect, analyze, and report supply chain and operational performance data.

Assist in developing analytical tools - Excel-based reports, dashboards and trackers

Support process mapping and documentation of workflows, standard work, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.

• Education and Certifications
• Currently enrolled in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

Key Attributes

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data cleansing, and data analysis.

Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP, inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain processes is an asset.

Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, or other data analytics/automation tools is an asset.

Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying inconsistencies, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Interest in manufacturing operations, warehouse optimization, material planning, and process improvement.

Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.

Curious and willing to investigate issues to understand root causes.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on actions.

The expected hourly rate for this role is between $20.00 - $22.00 CAD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and job-related factors.
