Are you passionate about helping the world's largest manufacturers and industrial enterprises reimagine their supply chains and operations using the power of the cloud? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Industry Specialists team focused on Supply Chain & Operations across EMEA.

In this role, you will own the business development strategy for supply chain and operations workloads — spanning planning, procurement, logistics, warehouse management, and supply chain operations — engaging directly with C-suite executives and VPs at leading industrial companies.

Your responsibilities will include providing thought leadership to the sales organisation, engaging AWS Solutions Architects and industry partners, leading the process to enable industry solutions, and helping evolve AWS offerings for more rapid adoption by customers. You will translate complex customer challenges into cloud-enabled opportunities, shape AWS's go-to-market approach, and build a qualified pipeline of high-impact engagements that accelerate digital transformation engaging with key customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will have both a business and consulting background with experience working with Industrial and Automotive & Manufacturing customers, and demonstrated experience interacting at the CxO/VP level with a solid understanding of cloud technology. This is an individual contributor role that demands strategic and analytical thinking about business, product, and technical challenges — combined with a builder's mindset, a keen sense of ownership, drive, and the scrappiness to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Define and execute the EMEA supply chain & operations BD strategy in alignment with the global AWS industry roadmap, identifying priority segments, customer targets, and partnership opportunities.

- Engage C-level and VP stakeholders (Chief Supply Chain Officer, VP Operations, VP Procurement, CIO/CTO) at target accounts to understand their strategic priorities, build trust, and position AWS as a long-term transformation partner.

- Develop and manage a high-quality business development pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and advancing opportunities across supply chain planning, procurement, manufacturing operations, warehousing, and logistics.

- Provide thought leadership on supply chain and operations modernisation — including demand planning, S&OP, control tower, digital twin, warehouse automation, and related factory operations — through executive briefings, industry events, workshops, and published content.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with AWS field sales, solutions architects, professional services, industry specialists, partner teams, and product teams to shape solutions, build go-to-market plays, and close strategic opportunities.

- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with ISVs (e.g. SAP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9 Solutions, Coupa), system integrators, and technology partners to create joint solutions that address end-to-end supply chain challenges.

- Serve as the "voice of the customer" internally, synthesising market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to influence AWS product and solution development.

- Present business reviews to senior AWS leadership on pipeline health, market trends, wins, and areas requiring investment or escalation.

- Handle a high volume of engagements across multiple geographies and stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • A day in the life
  • A significant portion of your day will involve customer engagement and support to the account teams. You will travel as needed.

You will attend team calls, create reports and attend business reviews, escalate resource or technology constraints as needed.

You will stay current with AWS capabilities and working closely with stakeholders to guide solution offerings, while managing multiple engagements in the fast-paced cloud computing market.

You will support internal and external events.

You will contribute to the strategy and create your own initiatives.

The team comes with extensive automotive and manufacturing backgrounds, with diverse culture and locations, and both business development and industry solution skills.

  • About the team
  • The AWS Industry team works with the world's leading manufacturers and industrial enterprises to accelerate their cloud journey across the full value chain — from product engineering and factory operations to supply chain, logistics, and aftermarket services. We combine deep industry expertise with the breadth of AWS's technology portfolio to help customers solve their most complex challenges, operate more efficiently, and innovate faster.

We are a diverse, global team that values ownership, customer obsession, and a bias for action. We thrive in ambiguity and are energized by the opportunity to build new markets from the ground up. If you are excited about the intersection of supply chain strategy and cloud technology — and want to make a meaningful impact at scale — we'd love to hear from you.

Basic qualifications

  • - Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • - Experience selling enterprise software or cloud-based applications
  • - Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
  • - Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences

Preferred qualifications

  • - Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
  • - Experience in Supply Chain Management
  • - 6+ years of experience in leadership roles
