System-of-Systems Integrator (SoSI)

[What the role is]

The System-of-Systems Integrator is a core technical role within the NexGen Programme Office, responsible for engineering the end-to-end integration of the constituent systems that form the Next Generation Air Navigation Services (NexGen ANS) capability. The role provides system-level technical leadership across architecture, interfaces, data exchanges, integration assurance and emergent behaviour to ensure that the integration SoS satisfies operational, performance, resiliency and maintenance requirements.

[What you will be working on]

As a System-of-Systems Integrator, you will define and maintain the SoS Integration architecture, technical baselines and integration roadmap in driving the integration of multiple mission-critical ANS systems. You will analyse system boundaries, dependencies, interface contracts, message flows, timing constraints and failure propagation paths to establish the SoS integration strategies, roadmap and implementation plans to ensure coherent end-to-end behaviour across independently developed constituent systems. You will evaluate system integration designs, interface specifications and technical proposals to ensure interoperability, maintainability and resilience from end-to-end.

You will also need to lead the technical planning and execution of incremental integration, verification and validation across laboratory, pre-operational and operational environments. This includes defining integration sequences, test configurations, interface and fault-injection scenarios, acceptance criteria and verification matrices. You will investigate cross-system defects using logs, traces and configuration records; perform root-cause and impact analyses; manage interface changes and configuration baselines; and drive closure of SoS Integration risks. You will also need to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

[What we are looking for]

• •Trained in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
• •More than 3 years of relevant experience in system engineering or a related field
• •Proven experience in system integration, systems engineering, system integration, solution architecture for complex, distributed or mission-critical systems
• •Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements definition and management, architecture development, interface management, integration, verification, validation, configuration management, technical assessment and risk management.
• •Ability to interpret and challenge technical designs and facilitate trade-off discussions across technical and operational stakeholders to achieve system interoperability, resilience and operational effectiveness
• •Excellent written and presentation skills
• •Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to influence and drive win-win outcomes with stakeholders
• •Familiarity with Air Traffic Management, Communications/Navigation/Surveillance systems and aviation safety will be an advantage

Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
