 Position Title: Systems Administrator I
- Department: Enterprise IT
- Reports to: Manager, IT Infrastructure
- Location: Hybrid
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 to 5PM ET
- Hourly Range: $36.92 - $49.40
- Position Overview:
- The Systems Administrator I is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the company’s IT infrastructure. The position involves basic system administration tasks, assisting with troubleshooting, and providing support to end-users.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor server and network performance, ensuring systems are operating efficiently and without issues. Assist in performing routine maintenance, updates, and patches for various systems in hybrid environments (on-premise, AWS, Azure)
- Assist with the installation and configuration of servers, computers, and network equipment. Support the setup of new user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Help maintain and monitor backup solutions to ensure data is regularly and securely backed up. Assist in executing data recovery processes when needed
- Implement and follow basic security protocols, including antivirus management, password policies, and user access control. Ensure systems are kept secure through regular updates and monitoring
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures. Keep logs of system changes and incidents
- Work closely with the helpdesk team, senior administrators, and other IT team members to resolve network or server issues. Assist with larger infrastructure projects under guidance from more experienced team members
- Assist in system upgrades, including operating system patches, hardware replacements, and software installations
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues as assigned in a timely manner. Escalate more complex problems to higher-level system administrators when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Ability:
- Strong knowledge of Windows family (Servers and Desktop). Linux knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and common networking hardware (firewalls, routers, switches)
- Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management
- Basic troubleshooting of hardware (PCs, laptops, printers) and software issues
- Ability to follow and enforce security policies, including password management and data protection
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and maintaining Microsoft 365 tenants is a plus
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or technical certifications accepted
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration
- 2+ years of experinece in Windows Server environments and basic network concepts
- 2+ years of experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Microsoft certifications (MTA, MCSA) are a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Will frequently communicate over video calls with internal and external stakeholders
- Must be able to lift and handle equipment up to 50 pounds. Occasional after-hours or on-call work may be required for critical system maintenance or issue resolution

The range listed reflects the compensation parameters for the role and does not represent the full compensation package.
