Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space Weapons and Information Systems is seeking GSCCE Systems Engineers ( Associate and Expert ) to support the Wideband Global Satellite (WGS) Ground Satellite Configuration & Control Element (GSCCE) Modernization effort in Colorado Springs, CO . This role supports current system upgrades for upcoming WGS satellite launches and future development initiatives, with responsibility spanning the full product lifecycle from concept and development through maintenance and customer support. The selected candidate will operate in a fast-paced, modified-agile environment, contributing to product documentation development and broader systems engineering activities, including system design, integration, sustainment, and support of technical deliverables such as SOWs and test procedures. The ideal candidate will bring strong systems engineering, problem-solving, technical, and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in team-based environments and contribute to the success of a complex, mission-critical program.
Position Responsibilities by Functional Area:
Hardware
- Perform system design analysis of ground infrastructure hardware baselines
- Analyze performance requirements and allocation to segments and subsystems
- Develop and execute simulation and modeling to assess GSCCE system performance attributes
- Establish and support system-level management and interfaces
- Identify, evaluate, and review design decisions, trade studies, and architecture improvements
- Develop and manage risk and opportunity baselines
Requirements
- Establish and maintain requirements baselines, including analysis, derivation, allocation, and traceability
- Manage requirements and system mission threads
- Decompose complex requirements into executable user stories
- Map and document system requirements
Documentation
- Document system design analyses, performance analyses, and simulation and modeling results
- Support verification and validation activities for hardware prototypes and onboard software qualification
- Write reusable, high-quality test procedures
- Design and document test campaigns spanning simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments
- Document test data, defects, and results, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
- Maintain technical documentation for requirements, design decisions, trade studies, interfaces, and risk and opportunity baselines
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position is 100% onsite.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain secret clearance post start (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 1-2 years Systems Engineering Experience
- 1 year experience with software/test integration
- Experience with web services
- Experience decomposing complex requirements into executable discrete user stories
Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Level 3 : 5+ years of proven experience performing software integration, test, validation, and verification documentation for systems engineering
- Active Secret Clearance
- Must be familiar with all types of documentation and repositories including all Microsoft Tools.
- 5+ years of experience with Web Service integrations (REST / SOAP APIs)
- 3+ years of experience with software integration and end to end testing methodologies
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate, Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Expert, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range :
Associate Level 2 : $91,800 - $124,200
Expert Level 3 : $112,200 - $151,800
