Description

The Recruiter builds H&R Agri-Power's pipeline of future and experienced employees, with a primary focus on service technicians. This person owns relationships with high schools, colleges and universities across our footprint, promotes our student sponsorship program, and recruits seasoned professionals for open roles throughout the company.

Requirements

Technician pipeline (primary focus)

  • Build and maintain partnerships with community and technical colleges that offer associate programs in diesel, agricultural equipment and ag power technology across our six-state footprint.
  • Promote and manage H&R's student sponsorship program: recruit candidates, coordinate sponsorship agreements, and track sponsored students from enrollment through graduation and hire.
  • Coordinate internships and work-based learning placements for sponsored students with store and service managers.
  • Work with Case IH and other manufacturer technician programs, such as Case IH Top Tech, to connect H&R stores with partner schools.
  • Serve on program advisory boards where possible and keep instructors informed of H&R openings and needs.

Early-career recruiting

  • Develop relationships with high school ag teachers, FFA chapters, career and technical education programs and school counselors near each store.
  • Represent H&R at career fairs, FFA events, farm shows, classroom visits and shop tours.
  • Build awareness of technician, parts and sales careers as a path to a long-term, employee-owned career.

Experienced-hire recruiting

  • Recruit experienced professionals for all roles companywide, including technicians, parts, sales, management and administrative positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define needs, write postings, source candidates, screen applicants and coordinate interviews.
  • Proactively source passive candidates through job boards, social media, industry networks and referrals.
  • Extend offers in partnership with HR and hiring managers.

Recruiting operations

  • Manage job postings and the applicant pipeline in the company's HR and applicant tracking systems.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including time to fill, source of hire and sponsorship outcomes.
  • Maintain an employer brand that reflects H&R's culture and employee ownership across postings, social media and campus materials.
  • Support new-hire onboarding and gather feedback from new employees in their first 90 days.
  • Ensure all recruiting practices comply with federal and state employment law.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, agriculture, communications or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, admissions, education outreach or a related role.
  • Strong relationship-building and public speaking skills, comfortable presenting to students, educators and industry groups.
  • Self-directed and organized, able to manage a multi-state territory and many open positions at once.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365, social media and applicant tracking or HR software.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and willingness to travel overnight regularly.

Preferred

  • Experience recruiting skilled trades or technical roles, especially diesel or agricultural equipment technicians.
  • Background in agriculture, FFA, ag education or the equipment dealership industry.
  • Existing relationships with community colleges, technical schools or high school CTE programs in Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois or Indiana.
  • Experience administering scholarship, sponsorship, internship or apprenticeship programs.
  • Experience building an employer brand through social media and campus marketing.
