Lead a tax practice where planning and advice actually work together — at one of New England’s fastest-growing independent wealth management firms.

Moneco Advisors is a modern, full-service financial planning firm dedicated to helping clients live their best financial lives. We combine a collaborative, people-first culture with sophisticated planning capabilities — and uniquely, an integrated tax practice that sits alongside our wealth management team. We’re honored to be recognized by InvestmentNews as one of the Top 75 RIA firms “Best Places to Work” nationwide.

The Tax Manager is a full-time, salaried leadership role with competitive benefits and performance-based bonus potential. This position owns the quality and delivery of the firm’s tax work — reviewing returns, managing client relationships, and leading and developing the tax team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned tax professional who wants ownership of a practice, not just a return stack.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll lead the day-to-day operation of the tax practice while partnering closely with advisors to deliver integrated planning. Your work will span four key areas:

Review & Technical Oversight

Review individual, fiduciary, exempt, corporate, and partnership returns for accuracy and technical soundness.

Serve as the firm’s technical resource on complex or unusual filing positions.

Manage responses to IRS and state agency correspondence, examinations, and notices.

Client Relationships & Planning

Own a book of client relationships, serving as primary point of contact through the engagement lifecycle.

Partner with wealth advisors to develop and implement integrated tax and financial planning strategies.

Identify planning opportunities across multigenerational families, business owners, and trusts.

Team Leadership & Development

Supervise, mentor, and develop tax associates — setting expectations, reviewing work, and building technical capability.

Manage workflow, capacity, and deadlines across the team through busy season and beyond.

Contribute to hiring and onboarding as the practice grows.

Practice Operations & Growth

Improve processes, technology, and workflow to increase efficiency and consistency.

Support the growth of the tax practice, including expansion into newly acquired offices.

Maintain compliance standards and stay current with evolving federal and state tax law.

What We’re Looking For:

CPA or EA required.

7+ years of progressive tax experience, including review responsibility.

Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, or managing tax staff.

Strong technical depth across individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate returns.

Tax planning experience with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and trusts.

RIA or wealth management industry experience preferred.

Proficiency with tax software including Lacerte, TaxDome, and SurePrep; Microsoft Office Suite; QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

Excellent communication skills and a client-first orientation.

Why Join Moneco Advisors?

This is a rare opportunity to lead a tax practice inside a growing wealth management firm — where your work directly informs how clients plan, invest, and transfer wealth. You’ll have real ownership over quality and team development, a clear path to expand your scope as the firm grows, and colleagues who see tax as central to the advice rather than an afterthought. If you’re a tax leader who wants more than a compliance-only role, we’d love to hear from you.
