Teacher Aide - Para Educator

Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, is seeking a paraprofessional educator for its inclusive education program for the 2026-2027 school year. A paraeducator’s primary role is to offer students an extra level of support and guidance inside and outside of the classroom.

Responsibilities

·Assist with instructional support: This includes working one-on-one with students, preparing classroom materials and other as needed. Implement activities planned by classroom teacher or inclusive education coordinator.

· Bridge communication between classroom teacher and student’s parents by providing a weekly progress report outlining assistance/modifications given for specific classes and subject area.

· Based on child’s SEP (Student Education Plan) and teacher directives, implement modified curriculum activities to meet individual learning goals.

· Provide for student’s social and emotional needs through respite activities and “brain breaks.”

· Maintain records of all activities planned and completed.

· Provide daily records to inclusive education coordinator.

· Attend and participate in professional learning activities as assigned.

· Complete other assigned tasks.

Requirements

· High school diploma

· Teaching, childcare, or teacher aid experience

· Patience, flexibility, positive attitude

Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
