Teacher, Assistant K-5

Description

The Lower School Teacher Assistant will be responsible for supporting the classroom teacher(s) in fostering a dynamic and creative learning environment that engages students with the curriculum and its concepts through student-centered, differentiated instruction. The teacher will work effectively as a member of a grade-level team to plan all aspects of the program and its activities, and will demonstrate a passion for teaching lower-school-age students, a growth mindset, flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage and inspire students.

Requirements

• •Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field preferred.
• •Teaching and/or assistant teaching experience preferred.
• •Demonstrate extensive knowledge of middle school curriculum and pedagogy.
• •Ability to respect and protect the confidentiality of the students, families, and Lake Tahoe School information
• •Ability to model professionalism, flexibility, and leadership aligned with the mission and values of the school.
• •Represent the school positively in the larger community, reflecting the school's values.
• •Ability to interface and maintain effective and professional relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and parents/guardians.
• •Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, administrators, parents/guardians, and students.
• •High degree of cultural competency and demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• •Strong understanding of best practices, curriculum design, vertical alignment, and assessment practices at the middle school level.
