Job Description:

Your Role on Our Team

At Milwaukee Tool, we are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to our users. The Assembly Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned assembly production cells while ensuring safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee development objectives are achieved. This role provides hands-on leadership and technical support to production team members, coordinates production activities, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as a key communication link between operators and leadership.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities

Consistently demonstrates safety first mindset; follows all safety related processes and procedures, quickly escalates safety related concerns or issues to create a safe work environment for all employees.

Maintain work area per 6s facility standards without direction.

Possess and maintain working knowledge of multiple assembly lines and production processes.

Lead, direct, and support the daily activities of 5 or more production operators, including both full-time and contingent employees.

Train team members to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements and ensure compliance with established work standards.

Maintain and monitor employee training matrices and training effectiveness.

Coach, mentor, and develop production employees while promoting engagement and accountability.

Provide performance feedback and participate in employee performance evaluations as required.

Collaborate and support other team leads to promote leadership development and operational consistency.

Serve as backup supervisor when needed.

Coordinate daily production activities to ensure schedule attainment and customer requirements are met.

Communicate production priorities, changes, and expectations to assigned teams.

Monitor production output, efficiency, and labor utilization throughout the shift.

Manage and coordinate changeovers to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Reconcile daily production quantities and accurately report production performance.

Record and track new production, rework, scrap, and repair activities.

Conduct first-piece inspections to verify product quality and specification compliance.

Verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure correct materials are used for each production run.

Review rejected materials and finished products to determine proper disposition according to established procedures.

Identify quality concerns and implement corrective actions in collaboration with Quality and Production leadership.

Ensure adherence to all quality standards and customer requirements.

Serve as the first point of contact for production-related technical issues.

Troubleshoot production line issues and escalate concerns through the appropriate channels.

Monitor production materials and replenish supplies as needed to support uninterrupted production.

Coordinate the timely disposition of non-conforming, excess, or obsolete materials.

Ensure adequate availability of production consumables, packaging materials, and PPE.

Monitor, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency metrics.

Identify performance gaps and lead problem-solving efforts to improve operational results.

Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Attend production meetings and contribute to discussions regarding safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational effectiveness.

Effectively identify and resolve production issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Ability to work overtime with advanced or little notice.

All other duties as assigned.

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to multi-task efficiently

6 months of manufacturing experience

Working Conditions:

Consistent repetitive motion

The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 35 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Prolonged standing and/or walking for up to 12 hours per shift

Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, reaching

Employees are required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells
