What the Role Entails

Key Responsibilities

Breaking News & Fast-Turn Analysis

• •Track, verify, and report on real-time industry developments, including major product releases, corporate earnings, regulatory shifts, and high-profile industry summits.
• •Write fast, accurate, and analytical news briefs under tight deadlines without compromising editorial integrity.

In-Depth Research & Investigative Journalism

• •Produce long-form features, market breakdowns, and investigative pieces focusing on AI, semiconductor supply chains, venture capital trends, and frontier technology.
• •Unpack complex business models, technological architecture, and long-term industry implications for a discerning audience.

Sourcing, Network Building & Executive Interviews

• •Cultivate and maintain an active network of confidential, firsthand sources—including founders, AI scientists, product managers, engineers, and VCs.
• •Go beyond PR wire distribution to uncover proprietary leads, inside perspectives, and original scoops.
• •Conduct high-level, independent interviews with C-suite executives, researchers, and prominent investors across North America.

On-Camera & Field Reporting

• •Deliver engaging, professional video standups, field reports, and rapid video debriefs from major tech campuses, conferences, and breaking news events.
• •Collaborate with multimedia producers to adapt text reporting into dynamic video, podcast, and social media formats.

Ecosystem Integration

Maintain a regular physical presence at major tech campuses (e.g., OpenAI, Google, Meta, NVIDIA), AI startups, incubators, and university research labs across the Bay Area.

Who We Look For

Qualifications & Requirements

• •Experience: 5 + years of professional experience as a tech reporter, business journalist, or media correspondent, preferably covering Silicon Valley, AI, or enterprise tech.
• •Technical & Business Acumen: Strong foundational understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, semiconductor ecosystems, and venture capital mechanics.
• •On-Camera Presence: Proven track record or comfortable on-camera presence for field reporting, video commentary, and live event coverage (reel or portfolio required).
• •Execution & Agility: Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency, meticulous attention to detail, and sound editorial judgment under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
• •Experience with video editing, digital publishing platforms, and social-first video formats (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts).
• •Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred to support global cross-border collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

US-California-Palo Alto

The expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $80,168.00 to $139,900.00 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee’s tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
Your benefits may be adjusted to reflect your location, employment status, duration of employment with the company, and position level. Benefits may also be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
