The Role:

As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you will be part of AutoStore's Technical Accounts team, responsible for the technical governance, advisory, and ongoing success of an assigned portfolio of AutoStore Partners and their End Customers. Acting as the primary technical account contact for your partners, you will help improve system performance, delivery quality, technical capability, and customer outcomes. The role focuses on partner performance, system uptime, proactive issue management, and the long-term success of deployed AutoStore systems.

Partner enablement is a core part of the role. You will work closely with partners and internal stakeholders to identify risks, monitor performance, resolve complex technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement across the Partner Network. Enablement activities include conducting technical review meetings, supporting partner training and certification programmes, sharing best practices, developing knowledge resources, analysing operational trends, guiding escalation management, improving installation and service quality, and helping partners adopt new products, features, and technical standards.

This position requires a strong technical background in industrial automation, including software, networking, mechanical, and electrical systems. Practical experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting environments will enable you to provide effective technical guidance, support root-cause analysis, and assist partners in resolving technical issues across the AutoStore product portfolio.

While the role includes technical problem solving and occasional on-site support, its primary purpose is to provide technical leadership, governance, and enablement that helps partners consistently deliver high-quality AutoStore customer experiences. Partners remain responsible for system delivery and site execution, while the TAM provides expertise, guidance, oversight, and continuous improvement support.

  • Operational reliability and recurring fault analysis
  • Mechanical and electrical system-related issues

  • Escalation and critical system recovery activities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Partner Success by managing an assigned portfolio of AutoStore Partners as their primary technical account contact, ensuring strong customer outcomes and long-term Partner success.
  • Monitor Performance and System Health through proactive review of KPIs, operational trends, site health, incidents, and improvement opportunities to support high system availability and low incident rates.
  • Provide Technical Advisory and Escalation Support by assisting partners with complex software, networking, mechanical, electrical, configuration, commissioning, and integration-related challenges, while supporting root-cause analysis and preventative actions.
  • Enable Partner Capability Growth through technical reviews, knowledge sharing, training support, best-practice guidance, quality improvement initiatives, and adoption of AutoStore standards and processes.
  • Build Strong Relationships with partners, customers, Sales, Product, R&D, Service & Support, and other stakeholders to support alignment, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Create and Share Knowledge by developing documentation, technical guidance, lessons learned, and knowledge resources that improve internal and partner capability.
  • Support New Products and Change Adoption by helping partners prepare for new modules, upgrades, feature releases, and lifecycle transitions across the AutoStore portfolio.
  • Think Critically and Act Proactively by analysing complex technical and operational challenges, identifying trends, and driving preventative improvements that enhance customer experience and partner performance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience with practical software, networking, mechanical, or electrical installation and configuration environments.
  • Experience in automation within industrial environments and an understanding of core AutoStore technology and products.
  • Ability to travel to AutoStore, Partner, or Customer locations across EMEA as required.
  • A customer- and partner-centric mindset with a proactive, preventative approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to support root-cause analysis for complex technical and operational issues.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with internal and external technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in both German and English languages.
