The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a trusted technical advisor who partners with customers to help them achieve operational excellence and derive maximum value from their technology investments. Acting as the primary technical point of contact, the TAM combines deep technical expertise with strong relationship-management skills to drive customer success, reduce operational risk, and accelerate adoption of new capabilities.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Trusted Advisor: Serve as the customer's primary technical advocate, developing a deep understanding of their business objectives, architecture, and operational environment.

- Operational Excellence: Proactively identify risks, recommend best practices, and guide customers toward resilient, cost-optimized, and high-performing solutions.

- Issue Management: Coordinate the resolution of complex technical issues, driving escalations to closure and ensuring timely communication across stakeholders.

- Planning & Reviews: Lead regular business and operations reviews, maintaining service roadmaps, health reports, and action plans.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, support, and account teams to represent the customer's voice and influence prioritization.

- Adoption & Enablement: Help customers plan and execute migrations, upgrades, and launches; share relevant guidance, documentation, and training.

  • A day in the life
  • You will provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices and proactively keep your customers' AWS environments operationally healthy. The close relationships developed with your customers will allow you to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges and help them achieve the greatest value from AWS. This position will require the ability to travel 10% or more as needed.

Basic qualifications

  • - 3+ years of technical engineering experience
  • - Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting for three (3) of the following: compute/storage/networking/CDN/databases/DevOps/big data and analytics/security/applications development in a distributed systems environment
  • - Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications

  • - Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
  • - Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
  • - Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and ability to properly apply them to existing or new customer architecture, implementations, and/or solutions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
