About Zuora

At Zuora, we help businesses grow smarter and adapt faster. Our platform powers modern business models — from subscriptions and usage-based pricing to AI-driven and outcome-based offerings — helping companies launch new products, automate complex billing, and unlock predictable, recurring revenue.

We’ve led the Subscription Economy for more than a decade. Now we’re evolving again by building the definitive platform for quote to cash and helping companies monetize their products and services with an adaptable, AI-ready foundation.

The Opportunity

As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you’ll be the person our enterprise customers rely on to make Zuora work for their business. You’ll lead solution design across subscription billing, revenue recognition and quote-to-cash. You’ll build AI-assisted proofs of concept (POCs) that show customers what’s possible in days, not months. And you’ll drive the adoption and measurable results that keep customers growing with us.

You’ll own a focused portfolio of enterprise accounts and work as part of a small team, stepping in on teammates’ accounts when your expertise is needed. You’ll partner directly with customers’ finance, IT and executive teams across the US and around the world.

AI has changed what this job can be: routine work like status reports, documentation and first-pass research is increasingly automated, so your time goes to judgment, building, and solving the problems that matter most to the customer.

This role is based in our Costa Rica office in Heredia, with required office days every week.

What you’ll own

Customer outcomes. Own the technical health, adoption and business results of your accounts. Know what success means to each customer in their own terms, such as a faster close, fewer billing errors or a new pricing model launched, and drive toward it.

Solution design and architecture. Lead the design of complex Zuora solutions across billing, revenue recognition and quote-to-cash, including data models, Zuora Workflow, and API integration design with customers’ ERP, CRM and finance systems.

AI-assisted proofs of concept. Use AI tools to build working POCs that demonstrate value and functionality to customers quickly, then turn what works into lasting solutions.

Hands-on problem-solving. Get into the customer’s environment. Use SQL and data analysis to find root causes, validate data and fix problems at the source instead of handing them off.

Closing the loop. When an issue needs Product, Engineering or Support, you stay accountable: you bring in the right people, push for resolution and keep the customer informed. You turn what you learn into product feedback that shapes Zuora’s roadmap.

Customer AI adoption. Help customers adopt AI in their own billing and finance workflows, including how Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and AI agents connect to SaaS platforms like Zuora.

Raising the bar. Share the AI workflows, POCs and patterns you build so the whole team moves faster. Bring what you’ve learned elsewhere, coach teammates on AI and new ways of working, and learn Zuora from them in return.

What success looks like

First 30 days: Get certified in a Zuora product area.

By 60 days: Embed with the TAM team on customer work, then take ownership of your first customer.

By 90 days: Own a full portfolio of accounts and drive measurable results for each.

About You

Must-haves

Experience: A strong track record in SaaS or enterprise software, in roles like implementation, solution consulting, solution architecture or technical account management, where you’ve led complex, customer-facing technical work such as solution design or system integrations.

Fast learner: You’ve picked up new platforms, products or industries quickly and can show how. If you bring the drive, we’ll teach you Zuora and the subscription business.

Builder mindset: You’d rather prototype a solution than write a slide about one, and you can point to things you’ve built.

AI fluency: You use AI tools in your daily work to move faster on prototyping, POCs, data analysis and system architecture, and you can show examples. You understand MCPs and how they apply in SaaS.

Technical depth: Strong SQL, API integration design (REST/SOAP), data modeling and business process design.

Customer focus: You understand how a customer’s business works and tie your work to their results, not just their tickets.

Ownership: You take full accountability for results and close the loop on what you start.

Attention to detail: Customers trust your numbers, your designs and your commitments.

Executive presence: You’re comfortable leading conversations with executives and technical teams alike.

Nice-to-haves

Experience with Zuora (Billing, Revenue, CPQ, Workflow) or with billing, revenue recognition or quote-to-cash systems.

Working knowledge of the ecosystem around Zuora, such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Oracle and other ERP, CRM and finance systems.

Familiarity with Python, JavaScript or JSONata (used in Zuora Workflow).

Salesforce Apex development experience.

A background in finance, accounting or revenue operations.

About the Team

Zuora’s Technical Account Managers are changing what post-sales looks like. We don’t work from a ticket queue or manage relationships from a distance. We embed with our customers, build solutions alongside them, and own the outcome end to end. We’re moving fast.

How you’ll work

AI-first. You’ll use tools like Claude Code, Cowork and Cursor every day to prototype, build POCs, analyze data, draft solution architectures and automate routine work, moving fast while staying accurate.

Forward deployed. You’ll work inside the customer’s world: their systems, their data and their business.

Hands-on builder. Expect to write SQL, design API integrations, build Zuora Workflows and create AI-assisted POCs.

Comfortable with ambiguity. Priorities shift and requirements are often unclear. You create structure, make progress and adjust as you learn.

Why this role

Work directly with US and global enterprise customers and own real outcomes, not a ticket queue.

Join an AI-first team that’s redefining what post-sales looks like.

Build things customers can see and use, like POCs and Zuora Workflows, and guide how they integrate Zuora into their systems.

Grow into architecture and leadership work, and help shape how the TAM role evolves at Zuora.
