Your Opportunity:

Our architecture team has almost a hundred years of experience between its members. They have been CTOs and chief architects, they have founded startups, and they can still do the work. What we do not have is enough of that experience in the room in Tel Aviv.

As Technical Director, Architecture, you become the floating senior technical authority for our engineering teams in Israel: the person who carries any problem in the platform to a decision, especially when it crosses ownership boundaries or has no obvious owner. Your scope reaches beyond any single team, from the product groups to the systems that connect them, as we prepare to re-architect for what AI makes possible.

Your Role:

• •Be the Architecture Voice in Tel Aviv - Own the technical direction for problems that span product lines, and keep the big picture while teams move fast.
• •Turn Requirements into Reality - Sit with Product Management as requirements arrive, challenge what is not viable, and reshape it into something we can build and scale.
• •Stay Hands-On - Write code, review designs and pull requests, and build the prototype that settles the debate with evidence.
• •Multiply the Engineers Around You - Work with directors, senior staff and principal engineers as an extension of the architecture team, and mentor engineers at every stage.
• •Build with AI as a Daily Practice - Use AI across design, code and investigation, show the organization where it accelerates the work and where it misleads, and help shape how we build software next.

What You'll Need:

• •10+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful depth in architecture at scale; many on our team have 15 or more.
• •Deep experience in distributed systems and cloud computing.
• •A prior CTO, Chief Architect or equivalent senior architecture role.
• •Hands-on fluency: you can read an unfamiliar codebase, contribute to it, debug a distributed failure and review code with authority, in whatever language the problem needs.
• •Generalist range: you have shipped across more than one of services, data, infrastructure or delivery, and become productive in a new domain within weeks.
• •Earned authority: people follow you because they respect your judgment, not your title.
• •Working fluency with AI-assisted development, including its failure modes.
• •Strong written and verbal communication in English, comfortable working across a seven-hour time zone gap.
• •Based in Israel, working from our Tel Aviv office.

And Ideally:

• •Depth in data processing and streaming (Kafka, Spark, Flink), cloud platform and Kubernetes, or CI/CD and release engineering.
• •Experience with cybersecurity or security product platforms.
• •Experience moving an organization from legacy patterns to modern architecture.
• •Platform engineering patterns, FinOps and cost optimization at scale.
• •Patents, public technical writing or open-source contributions.
