Job Description:

We’re seeking a Technical Lead, known internally as a Staff Engineer , to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering modern retail technology solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with high autonomy, ownership of technical strategy, and influence across our Stores portfolio. You'll partner with stakeholders, influence technical direction, align teams around a shared vision, and ensure technology solutions support the evolving needs of our stores and customers.

What you’ll do:

• •Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end applications (SQL/Data, APIs, services, UI)
• •Own epics and act as Lead Engineer on medium–large initiatives
• •Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple domains
• •Drive DevSecOps, non‑functional requirements, and operability (performance, security, resilience)
• •Take hands‑on ownership of complex features and services
• •Partner closely with Vendors, Product, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and global teams
• •Manage COTS applications across their full lifecycle
• •Uplift engineering standards, processes, and best practices

What you bring:

• •Senior/lead‑level application development experience
• •Proven ability to influence architecture and lead complex initiatives
• •Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams
• •Retail, e‑commerce, or FMCG experience (preferred)
• •Azure certifications and cloud cost optimisation experience (preferred)

Technical skills:

• •Data : SQL (ETL/ELT), ADF
• •Backend/API : .NET Core, C#, REST, event‑driven, Apigee
• •Azure : App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage
• •Security : OWASP, ISO27001, IAM, encryption
• •DevOps : Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
• •Frontend : Blazor, Razor, Telerik
• •Containers : Docker, Kubernetes
• •Reporting Tools : JIRA, Confluence, Service Now
