At Clarke Energy, our Technical Procurement Engineers play a vital role in ensuring we secure the right suppliers, technologies and commercial agreements to support the successful delivery of complex energy projects around the world.
Working closely with Proposals, Engineering, Commercial and Project teams, you'll be responsible for developing procurement strategies, evaluating suppliers and supporting competitive bids and tenders. Your work will directly influence project success by ensuring procurement decisions align with technical requirements, commercial objectives and delivery timelines.
This role is ideal for a procurement professional who enjoys combining commercial awareness with technical understanding and thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
What you'll be doing
Supporting successful bids and tenders
You'll work closely with our Proposals and Business Development teams to provide procurement expertise throughout the bid process. From reviewing client requirements to analysing supply chain risks and opportunities, you'll help develop procurement strategies that strengthen Clarke Energy's competitive position.
You'll assess project requirements, identify procurement needs and ensure supplier capabilities, pricing and delivery commitments are aligned with bid objectives.
Managing supplier relationships and market engagement
Building and maintaining strong supplier partnerships will be central to your role. You'll conduct market research, identify suitable vendors and manage supplier pre-qualification activities to ensure they meet technical, commercial and compliance requirements.
You'll obtain and evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing and contractual terms, and work collaboratively with suppliers to secure competitive solutions that deliver value for both our customers and the business.

Managing contracts and mitigating risk
You'll support and lead contract negotiations, helping to secure favourable commercial terms whilst protecting Clarke Energy from unnecessary risk.
Working alongside Commercial, Legal and Project teams, you'll ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations and relevant regulations. You'll also monitor potential supplier and supply chain risks, proactively identifying solutions before they impact project delivery.
Collaborating across the business
This role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Finance, Project Management and Sales functions. You'll act as a key point of contact for procurement matters, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment and timely decision-making.
You'll also contribute to customer-facing discussions and presentations where procurement strategy, supplier capability and commercial considerations form part of the wider project solution.
Maintaining procurement records and reporting
You'll maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier evaluations, contracts and commercial records throughout the procurement lifecycle.
In addition, you'll prepare performance reports and analysis to support management decisions, helping identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced procurement performance across future projects.
