The Technical Procurement Specialist at Modular Power Solutions (MPS) bridges early-stage modular design and engineering with strategic procurement and demand planning. Supporting the Senior Manager, Demand Planning, this role provides pricing, availability, and sourcing input while designs are still taking shape, so that design decisions are informed by real-world cost, lead time, and supply conditions. The specialist builds budgetary cost estimates, performs quantity takeoffs, and analyzes supplier and subcontractor pricing across one or more technical disciplines. The role also supports Bill of Materials (BOM) development and demand forecasting. The role builds technical and commercial expertise while taking on increased ownership of estimates, quote packages, and BOM deliverables as experience develops.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Support the evaluation of design alternatives by comparing cost, supply risk, and procurement impact.

Research products, manufacturers, and technologies to support concept development and early selection decisions.

Help translate conceptual designs and preliminary specifications into early-stage material and equipment lists.

Estimating & Quantity Takeoff

Perform quantity takeoffs from concept drawings, specifications, and models for assigned systems and disciplines.

Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, and subcontract scopes.

Gather, organize, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes; prepare bid-leveling summaries for review.

Maintain pricing databases, unit costs, and historical cost data to support future estimates.

Track market pricing trends and flag significant cost changes to the Senior Manager.

Technical Procurement Support

Assist in preparing technical RFQ packages, scopes of work, and bid documents under the direction of senior team members.

Solicit and follow up on supplier and subcontractor quotes, technical clarifications, and submittals.

Support supplier and subcontractor evaluation by compiling capability, pricing, and compliance information.

Support technical bid reviews by checking compliance against specifications and summarizing findings.

Help develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers.

BOM Support

Assist with creation, review, and validation of BOMs against drawings and specifications.

Maintain BOM revision tracking, document changes, and flag discrepancies for technical review.

Help standardize part numbers, descriptions, and component data across projects.

Demand Planning & Supply Risk

Provide data and analysis to support demand forecasts and long-range sourcing plans.

Track lead times and availability for key and long-lead components, and escalate potential risks.

Prepare reports and summaries on estimate status, BOM release status, pricing trends, and supply risk.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) relevant to electrical and mechanical systems.
