About Vanguard

50 years ago, John C. Bogle had a vision to start an investment company that did things differently. A company with no external shareholders. Where all the profits were invested back into the business and used to lower costs. Evidently, it was as bold as it was brilliant. To this day, Vanguard Group still has no external shareholders. That means no share prices to protect, and no profits to generate for outside owners.

Today, Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, serving more than 50 million investors worldwide. For more than 30 years Vanguard Australia has been supporting individual investors, financial advisers, and superannuation members to achieve their long-term financial goals.

Team & Opportunity

As part of Strategic Enablement Operations, this Technical Product Manager leads digital product initiatives that support Corporate Actions across the enterprise. The role combines Corporate Actions expertise with technical product management to shape the roadmap, drive enhancements, coordinate vendor inputs, and guide system integrations. The Technical Product Manager ensures Corporate Actions data is accurately captured and delivered to portfolio managers, traders, accounting teams, and other key stakeholders.

What You Bring:

  • Corporate Actions Knowledge: You bring hands-on experience with Corporate Actions processing and understand how events flow through middle-office operations and the wider trade lifecycle.
  • Technical Acumen: You are comfortable working with system architecture, data flows, and integration patterns, and can build strong partnerships with engineering teams to turn complex needs into practical solutions.
  • Strategic Product Thinking: You can look beyond immediate delivery and make thoughtful product decisions that improve performance, user experience, and operational scalability over time.
  • Communication Skills: You can make complex ideas clear and meaningful for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Leadership & Influence: You know how to bring people together, create alignment, and build momentum across teams and stakeholders with different priorities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the direction of one or more strategic products with cross-divisional impact, shaping their design, roadmap, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with teams across investment, operations, technology, and external vendors to deliver product outcomes that create meaningful business value.
  • Coach and support product teams, creating clarity, strong communication, and shared accountability.
  • Build alignment across internal and external partners so decisions are informed, consistent, and well supported.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of new product capabilities, translating business needs into clear requirements and practical implementation plans.
  • Use customer feedback, operational insights, and data to identify opportunities and continuously improve the user experience.
  • Bring a clear product perspective to business planning and prioritisation, helping teams focus on the work that will have the greatest impact.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support effective development, continuous integration, and automated deployment practices.
  • Contribute your expertise to strategic initiatives and special projects where you can add value.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience. A postgraduate qualification is welcomed but not essential.
  • Around five or more years of relevant business experience, ideally including leadership of large or complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Corporate Actions Expertise: Experience working with Corporate Actions data, events, or workflows within investment management or operations.
  • Technical Product Management: Experience defining requirements, leading product enhancements, and supporting complex system integrations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: A strong track record of building trusted partnerships across investment, operations, and technology teams.
