Are you energized by solving complex technical challenges that span multiple teams and organizations? Do you thrive when turning ambiguity into clear plans and measurable outcomes? As a Technical Program Manager III at Amazon, you will own the lifecycle of cross-functional programs that have considerable business impact. You will define program strategy, set objectives, and drive alignment across engineering and business stakeholders to deliver results at scale. This role puts you at the intersection of technology and business, where your ability to navigate system architectures, analyze data, and communicate effectively will directly shape the products and services our customers rely on.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Define and manage complex cross-functional programs, including establishing mission, objectives, and measurable success criteria that align with organizational goals.
  • - Drive alignment across engineering and business stakeholders by facilitating crisp decision-making, negotiating priorities, and communicating trade-offs clearly to leadership.
  • - Identify and mitigate risks proactively by analyzing system dependencies, architectural constraints, and cross-team gaps before they become roadblocks.
  • - Leverage data to track program health, surface insights, and recommend improvements — regularly reviewing metrics and building mechanisms for greater visibility.
  • - Write and present effective narratives to Directors and Vice Presidents, providing context on past, current, and future technology and business choices to inform strategic direction.
  • A day in the life
  • You will start your morning reviewing program metrics and preparing for a cross-team sync where you align engineering leads on delivery milestones. Mid-morning, you might draft a narrative that frames a key technical trade-off for leadership review. After lunch, you could facilitate a design discussion with engineers to evaluate architectural options, questioning assumptions and ensuring the solution scales. Later, you will connect with partner teams to resolve dependencies and unblock progress, wrapping up by updating your program roadmap and mentoring a fellow program manager.
  • About the team
  • Our team is focused on delivering technology programs that directly improve the experience for Amazon's customers. We operate in a collaborative environment where program managers partner closely with engineers, product managers, and business leaders to turn ambitious ideas into reality. We are building for the long term, and this role will play a key part in shaping how we plan, prioritize, and execute across the organization.
