About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Recruiter to join our Talent team. Because we are building an entirely new paradigm of AI hardware—combining neuromorphic engineering, analog circuitry, and advanced software—the talent we need is rare, multidisciplinary, and highly sought-after.

As a Technical Recruiter at Unconventional AI, you will partner directly with our founders and engineering leaders to design sourcing strategies, attract world-class talent, and close exceptional candidates. This isn't a standard software recruiting role; you will be mapping entirely new talent pools across deep tech, hardware architecture, AI research, and neuroscience. You will act as a strategic advisor, helping to build the recruiting engine from the ground up while maintaining an uncompromisingly high talent bar.

In this role, you will:

Own Full-Cycle Recruiting: Manage the end-to-end hiring process for highly specialized technical roles (e.g., Analog Circuit Design, AI Infrastructure, Machine Learning Research, and Systems Engineering), from initial scoping to offer negotiation and closing.

Partner with Leadership: Work closely with technical leaders to deeply understand hiring needs, define role requirements, and translate business priorities into actionable talent plans.

Build Pipeline: Design and execute creative, proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage top-tier passive candidates in highly competitive and niche technical markets.

Elevate the Candidate Experience: Ensure every interaction reflects Unconventional AI's bold mission and values, providing a high-touch, seamless journey from outreach to onboarding.

Architect Recruiting Operations: Help build and refine our internal hiring processes, interview loops, and ATS workflows to scale efficiently without sacrificing quality.

Evangelize our Mission: Serve as a brand ambassador, representing Unconventional AI within the academic, scientific, and deep-tech communities to attract pioneers who want to build the next generation of computing.

You might be a good fit if you have:

5+ years of technical recruiting experience , ideally within a high-growth startup, frontier AI lab, or specialized deep-tech/hardware environment.

A proven track record of sourcing and closing exceptional talent in complex technical domains (e.g., AI/ML research, semiconductors, embedded systems, or high-performance computing).

Deep technical curiosity. You don’t just match keywords; you have a genuine interest in understanding novel computing architectures, hardware-software co-design, and the future of AI.

Strategic advisory skills. You are comfortable challenging assumptions, utilizing market data to influence hiring decisions, and guiding senior stakeholders through ambiguity.

A builder’s mindset. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic startup environments where you are expected to operate with high agency, autonomy, and a sense of urgency.

Exceptional communication skills. You can authentically and compellingly articulate a highly technical, visionary company mission to top-tier candidates.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience hiring talent at the intersection of hardware and software (e.g., AI accelerators, neuromorphic computing, or advanced silicon).

Experience with academic recruitment and deep ties to top-tier research communities.
