This role works closely with our engineering, machining, fabrication, and field service teams to scope projects, develop solutions, and deliver practical, cost-effective results for our customers.

This position may be remote or a combination of remote and in-house, depending on experience and location. • Visit customer sites as needed to assess applications, operating conditions, and constraints
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, fabricators, and field teams to develop solutions
  • Prepare estimates and quotations, including material, machining, fabrication, and labor considerations
  • Review customer drawings, prints, and documentation to provide accurate quoting and project definition
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the sales and project lifecycle
  • Coordinate internally to ensure smooth handoff from sales to engineering and production
  • Create and support ongoing customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat or expanded work

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience in industrial sales, technical sales, or applications engineering within machining, fabrication, manufacturing, and industrial plants
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, fabrication methods, and industrial equipment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both customers and internal teams
  • Comfortable working in shops, plants, and field environments as required
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote or hybrid setting
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on practical, buildable solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on industrial or technical sales experience considered

Why This Role

  • Flexible remote or hybrid work structure
  • Close collaboration with hands-on Engineers and skilled trades
  • Sell real, practical solutions – not off the shelf products

Strong collaboration between sales, engineering, and operations

High visibility with customers and ownership of accounts

Compensation & Benefits

Oak Ridge Industries offers competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Short and long- term disability insurance
