This Position reports to:

Sales Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

This is a Technical Support Specialist role and will be a part of India Operation Center, Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division (INOPC, AUEN) based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to the Global Channel Support Manager. Your responsibilities include supporting ABB’s Automation Channel Partners globally, on all Presales Technical Support, Training and Aftersales Technical Support aspects.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industry division based in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead and support pre-sales technical queries, advising best-fit solutions, product positioning, technical queries on system capabilities, limitations, licensing, lifecycle
  • Lead technical discussions along with Partners & their customers on ABB control system
  • Supports Partners with both, Sales and customized Technical/hands-on engineering Trainings on products and solutions offered.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to new Partners on initial system configurations,
  • You will be the first support contact for Partners, in a global landscape. Assisting
  • Liaise with Product Managers & L3 team on product related issues on an ongoing Partner project and lead the follow-up of issue resolution with L3 team, in cases where there’s no local Partner support team in Local divisions.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must have strong proficiency in hands-on project engineering experience with ABB Control
  • System products in either of System 800xA, Freelance DCS, Symphony Plus.
  • Having Industry specific experience with Batch mgmt. applications, Water solutions, F&B
  • applications, and exposure to Digital offerings in OT space is a plus.
  • Having international exposure, handling Customer/Channel Partner support roles, is a plus.
  • Should be flexible to support geographies in different time zones other than India.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Provides engineering support during the bid phase and ensures that the resources required to deliver the technical solutions are correctly accounted (e.g., technical competence, quality, schedule, and cost requirements).
