Role Overview

As a Technician at Boxbot, you’ll play a critical role in building, testing, and maintaining our robotic delivery systems. Working closely with engineering, operations, and deployment teams, you’ll help ensure our technology performs reliably both in-house and at customer sites. This is a hands-on role where technical expertise, problem-solving, and adaptability come together to support Boxbot’s mission.

What You’ll Do

- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot robotic systems and supporting infrastructure

- Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures

- Collect, analyze, and document system performance data during testing and deployments

- Assist engineering teams with prototype builds, field tests, and feasibility projects

- Provide on-site technical support during installations, commissioning, and maintenance

- Perform electrical wiring, harness assembly, and connector installations

- Contribute to process improvements by documenting best practices and lessons learned

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, robotics, or automation hardware

- Proficiency with fabrication tools, wiring, and electrical connectors

- Familiarity with industrial controls, networking, or system integration

- Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and perform precise measurements

- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to deliver practical field fixes under tight deadlines

- Comfortable working in industrial environments and with equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks

- Bonus skills: electrical panel building, machining, or CNC operation

- A team-oriented mindset, eagerness to learn, and adaptability in a fast-moving environment

Location & Travel

This role is based in Alameda, CA. Travel may be required for system installations, testing, and customer support. Willing to travel occasionally during project deployments (up to 2-3 weeks at a time). Maximum 25% travel time.

Compensation

Boxbot offers competitive pay, equity, and benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and aligned with Bay Area market rates.
