Technician III, Instrumentation & Calibration Technical Support

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Technician III, Instrumentation & Calibration Technical Support , is primarily responsible for managing complex tasks related to installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing instruments that monitor environmental conditions. You will be expected to apply advanced technical skills and problem-solving abilities while adhering to procedures.

Job responsibilities:

• •Handle complex technical tasks to support operations and enhance efficiency
• •Install, calibrate, test, and repair instruments and technologies monitoring environmental conditions in a manufacturing facility
• •Inspect and test instruments like oscilloscopes, calipers, pressure gauges, and temperature controllers to diagnose faults
• •Install and maintain control and measurement instruments on plant equipment
• •Test and measure heat, light, voltage, amperage, weight, vacuum, magnetic resistance, or various content measurements to ensure quality standards
• •Collaborate with engineers to design and build custom instrument and control devices
• •Make significant decisions within task scope, requiring advanced technical skills and adherence to procedures
• •Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing required training
• Commit to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in operations
• Perform in-house calibration activites on time to ensure production equiment/machinery and lab equipment in the plant was calibrated based on scheduled to avoid overdue calibration.
• •Ensure on time submission of calibration report, service report and others calibration documents after performed calibration.
• •Ensure all calibration related activities are performed in accordance to all applicable SOP and guidelines.
• •To support vendor for on-site calibration activities.
• •Assist superior to complete any tasks/ project assigned and to support for ad-hoc calibration request to minimize production downtime/meet project timeline.
• •Assist superior during technical writing for NC investigation for calibration related tasks and follow up closely to close the NCI.
• •Ensure the implementation of CAPA is effective by evaluating the effectiveness from time to time.
• •To perform inventory and handle calibration standard / master equipment used for routine calibration jobs with care to ensure available,traceable and in good condition.
• •Monitor and update all calibration records and calibration sticker for all production equipment/machinery and lab equipment.
• •Assist for document archiving, scanning and filing.
• •Support for packaging of out-source calibration items and others shipment documentations.
• •Establish and ensure SOPs and documentation are compliance with OSHA, ISO 13485, GxP and US regulations.
• •Adherence to Alcon values and behaviors, observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts, and Alcon Health, Safety and Environment Standards.
• •All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
• •Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
• •Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations​.

Minimum requirement:

• •Diploma in Calibration or any Engineering field
• •General Certificate Certificate in Calibration or Engineering fields with minimum 3 years of hands on experience in Calibration activities
• •Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Need minimum 5 years of hands on experience in Calibration activities
• •Minimum Work Experience Experience Experience Detail 3 years
• •Minimum 3 years of hands on experience in Calibration activities at manufacturing environment
