Job Description Summary

  • The Research Assistant Trainee will support a translational HIV research laboratory while developing hands-on research skills under
  • close supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR
  • assays, sample processing, data management, and general laboratory support. This role is intended for an individual seeking to refresh
  • and expand their laboratory experience in a collaborative research environment.

Job Description

Training in Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, sample handling)

Assisting with Experimental Procedures and Laboratory Research Activities

Sample Processing and Preparation

Data Entry, Recordkeeping, and Basic Data Management

Laboratory Organization, Inventory Management, and Equipment Maintenance

Laboratory Safety, Compliance, and Required Training Activities

Pay Range

$7.25 - $16.00 Hourly Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
