Temporary - Open Gym Supervisor

Job Description

Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is seeking candidates for a Temporary Open Gym Supervisor in the Department of Health Enhancement, Exercise Science and Physical Education. The regular work schedule is 10 hours a week, Monday – Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., allowing for flexibility to accommodate the needs of the department. The primary responsibility of this role is to help supervise the Recreation/Fitness Program open to students, faculty and staff. This is a non-bargaining, non-exempt position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Duties include but are not limited to:

• •Supervise students during designated Open Gym hours.
• •Enforce rules and regulations of the Open Gym program.
• •Complete and maintain accurate records for the program.
• •Effectively communicate and work with all faculty, staff and students.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• •High school diploma or GED, and any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• •Fitness Certification from an NCCA accredited organization such as:
• •American College of Sports Medicine
• •American Council on Exercise
• •The Cooper Institute
• •National Academy of Sports Medicine
• •National strength and Conditioning Association

• •CPR/AED certification
• •Experience in fitness instruction - group and/or individual
• •Excellent communication and organizational skills

Pay Rate : $25.00 per hour.
