About the Faculty and School
The Faculty of Social Sciences comprises nine departments, schools, and institutes, which offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in both English and French. With its 10,000 students, 260 full-time professors, and wide array of programs, the Faculty of Social Sciences plays a key role at the heart of the University of Ottawa. Its graduate students are supervised by excellent researchers and undertake cutting-edge research in the Faculty’s master’s and Ph.D. programs.
The School of Psychology promotes research and training excellence. Our professors lead major laboratories, research centres, and institutes. The School of Psychology comprises a strong undergraduate program and outstanding graduate programs in Psychology and Clinical Psychology. All programs are offered in French and/or English.
Along with our commitment to French-English bilingualism at the University of Ottawa and uOttawa’s aspiration of being a vibrant Franco-Ontarian and Franco-Canadian community, the School of Psychology is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-oppressive practices in research, teaching, clinical training, governance, and service. We recognize that systemic barriers have prevented many qualified people of colour, Indigenous Peoples, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, and members of other marginalized communities from fully participating in academia. We are seeking to increase the diversity of the School of Psychology and to strengthen our capacity to serve and represent the Ottawa region, Canada, and the broader communities with whom we work.
