The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for pre-setting and issuing CNC and Manual tools and area equipment; maintains records of issued tools and monitors the tool crib inventory; receives new tools and schedules preventative maintenance of Tool Crib related equipment.

Essential Functions

• •Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• •Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
• •Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
• •Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using micrometers and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
• •Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment, using hand tools, spray gun, or pressurized spray can.
• •May deliver tools or equipment to workers, manually or using hand truck.
• •May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.
• •Receives, stores and issues CNC cutting tools and equipment in an industrial establishment.
• •Sets Cutting Tool Length and Diameters using Optical Tool Pre-Setters (Will Train on specific models).
• •Verifies ‘Returned from Use’ tooling for wear and/or damage.
• •Maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computers.
• •Receives incoming new tools and equipment and verifies them against Purchase Orders.
• •Unpacks and examines incoming tools and materials, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify and issues.
• •Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
• •Marks and identifies tools and equipment for traceability.
• •Serves as an expert/consultant in manufacturing line skills with other employees.
• •Responsible for accurate inventory of tools and fixtures in a secure access tool crib room.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• •Ability to use complex equipment, read difficult instructions and schematics, and maintain written records.
• •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• •Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• •Ability to create Excel spreadsheets to maintain Inventories.
• •Ability to effectively present information in small group situations.
• •Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
• •Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• •Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• •Ability to use common machine shop hand and measurement tools.
• •Self-motivation, able to accomplish high level of work.
• •Team player, actively participating in continuous improvement projects with coworkers.

Preferred:

• •High school degree. Successful completion of company provided training will be required.
• •3+ Years Practical Experience working directly with CNC Tools and Tools Holding processes.

• •This position operates within a precision manufacturing environment supporting the production of mission-critical aerospace and defense components. Success requires a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and customer delivery commitments.
