Touch Engineer, Display and Touch Team

• Amazon Devices is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?
• As a Touch Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and validate innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

• Key job responsibilities
• · Perform hands-on bring-up, testing and troubleshooting of touch subsystems and display assemblies and associated control electronics
• · Serve as the technical architect and lead for display/touch components through the entire product life cycle, from road mapping through design in to mass-production support
• · Manage the technical relationship with display and touch vendors to deliver display-touch components to the required specification and schedule
• · Perform hands-on bring-up, testing and troubleshooting of touch subsystems and display assemblies and associated control electronics
• · Devise methods to stress test Touch performance as seen by customers in field.
• · Implement automation for touch performance validations and stress testing
• · Function as a subject matter expert on touch, stylus and gestures technology by providing up-to-date, accurate information to colleagues and management
• · Travel to supplier and contract manufacturer sites world-wide to support product development activities (10% - 20% travel)

Basic qualifications

• - BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• - Experience with capacitive touch development, active stylus development and gestures
• - Experience with touch/display test equipment and methods
• - Experience in the consumer electronics or touch/display industry as a hardware engineer
• - Experience in product integration

Preferred qualifications

• - Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• - Experience in Python, C/C++ or Java programming in a GNU/Linux development environment
• - Working knowledge of optics, cameras, Autocad
