Toy Store Assistant

CityKidz is seeking an organized and professional Toy Store Assistant to support the Gift of Christmas program. The ideal candidate can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, is well organized, a team player, and self-motivated.

  • Position Overview:
  • Reporting to the Manager of Programs and functionally supervised by the Coordinator of Program Admin and Logistics, the Toy Store Assistant supports all tasks in the Toy Store for our Gift of Christmas program. The Toy Store Assistant ensures the tasks to run the Toy Store are complete with excellence.

Responsibilities:

Administration

Inventory a large number of toys coming in daily.

Keep accurate records of gift and supply inventory.

Prepare gift selection supplies (organize labels, rosters, wish lists, etc.).

Toy Store Setup and Teardown

Set up and organize the Toy Store for receiving, sorting, and distribution of gifts.

Move large bags (up to 25 pounds) of toys from storage to the store area during setup week, throughout the program, and during teardown.

Organize toys according to a categorized system as directed for the gift selection process.

Complete post-season inventory, organization, and a full clean of all supplies and storage.

Toy Store Support

Assist volunteers and staff with gift selection, wrapping, and processing.

Assist with preparing toys for distribution to children.

Support teams while deliveries are in process.

Assist with gift distribution to community partners as per CityKidz policy and procedures.

Ensure the Toy Store is cleaned, organized, and restocked after each day of activity.

Program Support

Support with home visits as needed.

Support with program initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Superb interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various departments, teams, volunteers, and donors.

Ability to interact with volunteers and donors in a professional manner, representing CityKidz well.

Comfortable working on your feet for most shifts in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Ability to lift large bags of toys (up to 25 pounds).

Ability to work Monday to Friday with various shifts including evening hours.

Access to a personal vehicle.

  • Hourly Shifts:
  • * Shifts are generally between 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
  • * Up to 44 hours a week.
