Trade Counter Assistant - Townsville

About Reece Fire

We protect you.

We are Australia's leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products with over 9,000 people located across 800 branches globally. As part of the Reece Group, Reece Fire develops and delivers products that drive safety and protection.

About the role

As part of the team in Townsville, you'll take on a varied and hands-on role that combines customer service, warehouse operations and delivery driving. You'll help engineers, project managers and other tradespeople access the products they need to maintain fire safety protection, while supporting the day-to-day operations that keep the branch running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road, with a large portion of the role focused on delivering products to customers throughout the region. When you're back in branch, you'll assist with trade counter sales, customer service, stock handling and general branch operations.

An MR Licence is preferred but not essential . We also welcome applications from candidates who hold a current driver's licence and are interested in obtaining their MR licence with support and development opportunities available.

Your day-to-day

A typical day will involve:

  • Making deliveries to customers using a company vehicle
  • Loading and unloading products safely and efficiently
  • Providing customer service and information about products
  • Providing quotes both in person and over the phone
  • Undertaking pick packing and stock control activities
  • Assisting with receipting and dispatching goods
  • Helping keep the branch tidy, organised and safe

We'd love to hear from you if you're someone who:

  • Enjoys driving and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Has previous experience in delivery driving, warehousing, retail sales or customer service
  • Can pick orders, maintain stock accuracy and ensure information provided is accurate
  • Can use a computer and is happy to learn new systems
  • Holds a clean, valid driver's licence
  • Has an MR Licence or is interested in obtaining one and developing their skills
  • Is reliable, safety focused and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Wants to develop their career locally, within our network or in our head office

Our perks and benefits:

  • Performance based bonuses
  • Paid annual leave
  • Continuous learning and development programs to support your career goals
  • Generous discounts for those looking to renovate their bathroom or kitchen
  • Reece Boost - offering cashback and discounts on groceries, fuel, insurance, travel and more
  • Paid parental leave

What happens next!

After submitting your application, you'll be invited to participate in a brief chat interview. Think of it as your first interview, but without the usual pressure. This relaxed, flexible alternative to a phone interview involves answering 5 questions and should take about 15-20 minutes. It's best to complete it within 24 hours. Don't worry about time constraints; you can take it at your own pace and even pause and return later. Once finished, you'll receive a personality profile highlighting your strengths.

Please check your junk or spam folder if you don't see the invitation in your inbox.

At Reece Group, we prioritise fairness and are here to support you at every step. If you need any accommodations, let us know so we can provide the best support.
